Identifikasi Pangan Unggulan di Kota Medan : Location Quotient dan Dynamic Location Quotient

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the percentage of food crop commodity, and determine which food crops are classified as bases in Medan City. This research used descriptive and analytical method. The data used in this research are secondary data including land area, production, and productivity of food crops (rice, corn, peanuts, soybeans, green beans, cassava and sweet potatoes) in Medan City and North Sumatra Province based on time series in 2011-2017 (7 years). The results of Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analysis showed the highest percentage of food crops productivity in Medan city was found on cassava commodity amount 51.43% (unbase). Food commodities that have average value of LQ ≥ 1, namely rice (1,408); corn (1,061); peanuts (1,387); and green beans (1,559) commodity. The highest average value of LQ and DLQ was found in the green beans commodities amount 1,559 and 7,109 (base) respectively.
